I woke up yesterday morning nestled between two little bundles of joy in my cozy king-sized bed. Their warm, breathing forms were practically glued to mine—every time I tried to move, one of them would stretch out an arm or leg, claiming the space like it was theirs by birthright. It was perfect. We were all safe, together. Our return home was nothing short of magical. She sprinted down the hallway, weaving past the other travelers and their luggage, her eyes scanning the crowd for us. The airport buzzed around her as I caught up, scooped her up, and spun her around before turning to see my son waving excitedly from the backseat. Those fleeting moments felt like they were happening in slow motion. Michigan greeted us with slightly warmer temperatures than what we'd left behind in Florida, but the difference was negligible—just a few degrees and a hint more humidity. That subtle shift in weather didn't last long, though. During our quick getaway, we spent most of our time driving, alternating between blasting the AC and rolling down the windows to catch the ocean breeze. When we weren't stuck in traffic or attending meetings, we squeezed in some time to explore the coastline. [Insert Image: IMG_3846] [Insert Image: IMG_3868] The beach became our sanctuary. Between sunbathing and building sandcastles, we stumbled upon some incredible dining spots where lights strung across outdoor terraces created the perfect ambiance. It felt like summer, even if the calendar said otherwise. [Insert Image: IMG_3881] [Insert Image: IMG_3859] One evening, we found ourselves at Cristino’s Coal Oven Pizza, a hidden gem along the shore. Their pizza and spinach ravioli were divine, and the gelato? Pure bliss. If you're ever in Clearwater, don't miss out on this place. If you happen upon Clearwater, you must visit Cristino’s Coal Oven Pizza.] Even the trees seemed to have personality here—twisted trunks and pastel-colored buildings lined the streets, drawing me in like a magnet. And then there was the laid-back vibe, so carefree and inviting. [Insert Image: IMG_3917] [Insert Image: IMG_3919] [Insert Caption: Speaking of gelato, I had Nutella gelato. Go ahead, be jealous, it’s okay.] Fish tanks weren't uncommon in local shops, adding a touch of whimsy to everyday life. [Insert Image: IMG_3924] [Insert Image: IMG_3930] [Insert Caption: Fish tanks in the counter happened to be a regular occurrence.] While shopping, we struck up a conversation with a local sponge diver who shared stories about the industry, the water's impact on the sponges, and their recent successful harvest. When we decided to buy a couple of sponges—one for the kitchen and one for the kids' baths—he handed them over with a grin, insisting we didn’t need to pay. It was such a heartwarming gesture. [Insert Image: IMG_3992] [Insert Image: IMG_3996_2] [Insert Image: IMG_3997] By the time we returned home, our to-do list was nearly complete. A few seashells collected from the beach filled our pockets, destined for a little girl eagerly awaiting them. Our suitcases carried the essence of summer, complete with damp swimsuits and grains of sand sealed away in plastic bags. [Insert Image: IMG_4049_2] [Insert Image: IMG_4032] [Insert Image: IMG_4003] Summer has been calling louder lately, especially when I think about trips to the market. Yesterday, we almost made it there, but naps and unexpected rain squashed our plans. Instead, we embraced the slower pace, indulging in indoor activities. Mama even survived a minor bout of food sensitivity, which thankfully passed quickly. [Insert Image: IMG_4046] As we prepare for our final summer in Michigan, our bucket list has grown longer than ever. There's so much to do, so many memories to create before we move on. Stay fabulous! [Insert Signature Image]
