Apple's New Measures to Promote Flowering

Managing flowering apple trees can be challenging if not done properly. Over-pruning or improper techniques may lead to weak tree vigor and distorted fruit shapes. However, with the right supporting measures, it is possible to control the growth of shoots and maintain strong tree vitality, achieving an annual flowering rate of up to 99%. Here are some effective methods:
1. **Branch Pulling**: Branch pulling can be done throughout the year, but spring and autumn are the most suitable times. During these periods, the tree is in a phase of nutrient accumulation, making branches more flexible and easier to adjust. By pulling branches, air circulation and light penetration within the tree improve, which enhances nutrient accumulation in the branches and leads to well-developed, healthy flower buds.
2. **Promoting Flowering with Cationic Active Agents**: From May 15 to June 30, moderate pruning of the trunk or main branches can be performed. Applying a cationic active agent known as "Promote King Cream" helps redirect nutrients from the upper parts of the tree to the roots, encouraging the accumulation of nutrients in the upper shoots. This agent works by destroying viruses within the tree’s vascular system, activating anions, and generating high-energy electrons through photosynthesis. This process disrupts the transport of photosynthetic products, shifting the plant’s growth function toward reproductive development. It also increases endogenous ethylene levels, promoting the formation of high-quality flower buds. Additionally, this agent helps break down condensed substances in the vascular system and balances the ecological nutrition within the tree.
3. **Fertilization After Harvest**: After the early fruiting season, apply more organic fertilizer. For each acre, use 5,000–6,000 kg of well-rotted pig or cow manure, along with 100 kg of high-quality fruit tree compound fertilizer. Before the spring budding period, spray a 3% urea solution three times. Starting in July, apply a potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution three times to ensure the proper formation of axillary buds.
By implementing these strategies, orchard managers can significantly improve flowering rates, enhance fruit quality, and achieve long-term sustainable growth.
