The eucalyptus can be propagated by sowing and rooting. It is more commonly used due to the ease of sowing and the availability of a large number of shoots at a time.

1. Seed-selection The eucalyptus trees with good tree shape, straight trunks, and no pests and diseases were selected as the mother plants for seed collection and collected when the fruits were mature. After collection, promptly dry and gently tap with a wooden stick to make the seeds fall out of the fruit. After the net species are collected, use a clean cloth bag.

2. Seed treatment Soak the seeds with hot water of 70°C to 80°C. The amount of water is 6 times the volume of the seeds. Stir the water while adding water to make the seeds evenly heated. After soaking for 72 hours, the seeds were removed and mixed evenly with sand at a ratio of 4:1. The mixed seeds were placed in a sterilized bamboo basket or brick pool and moistened with a wet straw curtain. The indoor temperature is controlled between 6°C and 12°C. The humidity of the straw curtain should also be observed regularly. If it is too dry, it should be sprayed in time. Dehydrated seeds above 40% can be sown.

3. Seeding generally uses field seedlings. The sowing ground requires fertile soil, good permeability, high topography, and no accumulation of water. Before planting, the nursery should be treated with formalin to disinfect and thoroughly remove weeds. Generally used ridge sowing, row spacing 60 cm, the seed amount of 1 kg to 2 kg per square meter. Cover with 2 cm thick loose fine soil after sowing and gently apply with your feet.

4. Seedling rearing In early June, a shade shed was erected to prevent strong sunlight from directing at noon. After the Mid-Autumn Festival, shade nets can be removed to allow them to receive full sunshine. Seedlings grow to a length of about 10 cm and retain 10 to 15 seedlings per square meter. Marrow seedlings should be based on the principle of multiple seedlings and sparse seedlings, and timely removal of inferior seedlings and dense seedlings. After the seedlings emerge, the water and fertilizer management will be strengthened, and urea may be applied in spring and summer to promote seedling growth. Phosphorus and potassium fertilizers should be applied after the autumn to increase the degree of lignification of the seedlings. In combination with pouring antifreeze water before winter, the fermented beef and horse manure is applied in the seedbed. In the nursery, two or three transplants should also be carried out. The roots of transplanted seedlings are more likely to survive. Since the trunk of eucalyptus is not straight, it should also be used to raise the dry seedlings to straighten the seedlings.
