Aid Xinjiang boosts the development of donkey industry in Xinjiang

In Xinjiang, a family sat in a donkey cart to visit Bazaar (meaning Uyghur's "mart"), which is a landscape in many places. On September 4, the reporter learned from the “The 4th China Commodity Donkey Industry Economic Summit Forum and Xinjiang Donkey Industry Development Planning Seminar” sponsored by the Animal Husbandry Department of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. In recent years, the old simple donkey has been quietly introduced to commodities. As the donkey transforms, Xinjiang will also take advantage of the east-west winds in Xinjiang to develop the donkey industry.

On June 28, at the signing ceremony of the Kazakh counterpart Kashgar economic and trade cooperation project held in Kashgar, Xinjiang, Shandong Dong'e Ejiao Co., Ltd. signed an agreement with the Kashgar District to build a donkey base. It is planned that by 2015, the donation of donkeys in Kashgar will reach 500,000.

At the seminar, Shandong Dong'e Ejiao and the Xinjiang Academy of Animal Husbandry and Science signed a strategic cooperation agreement of “production, learning, and research”, and donated donkey donkeys and improved equipment to the Xinjiang Academy of Animal Husbandry and Kashi, Hetian, and Aksu. According to Wang Lisheng, deputy general commander of the Shandong Provincial Headquarters for Assistance in Xinjiang, “We will strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation, raise the level of farming, serve farmers and herdsmen to make a fortune, and make contributions to the rapid development of the Xinjiang economy.”

The donkey donation industry has a certain proportion in the structure of animal husbandry in Xinjiang, and has been ranked first in the nation for many years. With the improvement of people’s living standards, the demand for donkey meat, donkey milk, and donkey-hide gelatin as raw materials has been increasing year by year, and the price has been rising. The comparative benefits have become increasingly apparent. It is understood that the current price of donkeys in southern Xinjiang has reached 8,000 yuan to 10,000 yuan, and the price of donkeys has reached 3,000 to 5,000 yuan. The purchase price of donkey milk is RMB 25 per kilogram. Farmers raising a donkey can earn RMB 1,500 to 2,500 per year. Compared with cattle and sheep, the unit input and output is relatively high.

Recently, Xinjiang Donkey Industry Development Planning (2011-2020) has been initially completed. It is estimated that by 2020, the total number of donkeys in the district will reach 1,410,100 heads, and 515,200 heads will be released, with a slaughter rate of 45%.
