The China Association of Rural Professionals promotes a straw decomposition technology that can rapidly decompose and produce various non-toxic, harmless, mold-free plant straws, thatch, and leaves.

According to reports, this straw decomposition technology project, which was included in the National Science and Technology Spark Program, was developed by the national model worker, the winner of the National Science and Technology Progress Special Award, and honorary chairman Wang Shantang of Inner Mongolia Shantang Farming and Animal Husbandry Technology Co., Ltd. after eight years of development. The technology is based on the reverse reaction principle of the formation of biochemical reactions of crop stalks. Through the combined action of biological compound enzymes, enzyme activators and carriers, crude macromolecules and cellulose in plant stalks are decomposed into small molecules until the amino acids and glucose are degraded. The release of interstitial and intracellular nutrients is sufficient to optimize the digestive environment in livestock and poultry, so as to increase the feed conversion rate and reduce the cost of breeding.

Practice shows that the straw decomposition technology has four advantages over straw fermentation (micro-storage) technology commonly used in rural China. The straw decomposition technology can take only two to six hours, while the fermentation (micro-storage) technology takes one week. The second is simple operation. The straw decomposition technology can be operated under poor conditions such as large cylinders and large pots, while the fermentation (micro-storage) technology needs to operate under high requirements such as high temperature, high nutrient and fermentation tanks, and the third is wide application. The straw decomposition technology can fully degrade refined and roughage, and the transformed feed can be fed simultaneously to ruminants and monogastric animals. Fermentation (micro-storage) can only act on roughage and can not feed monogastric animals. Fourth, the efficacy is significant. The application of straw decomposition technology to feed livestock and poultry, the amount of feces is reduced by about 1/3, and the surface is glossy and delicate, indicating that digestion is adequate. It is estimated that the feedstuffs produced by this technology can increase the transformation rate by 20% to 30% for forage herbivores, 30% to 50% for food grain animals and 5% to 10% for animal products.
