In general, there are two types of milking systems: barrel and pipe milking systems. The barrel milking system is a portable bucket that collects the cows directly into a vacuum. The portable barrels are usually ground-mounted and suspended. In a modern dairy farm, the milking system used is a piped milking system. Usually, the piped milking system uses rigid heat-resistant glass or stainless steel non-toxic pipe. The vacuum pressure is transmitted from the milk collector to each milking. Cups and milk are transported from each milking cup to a milk collector. Pipeline milking machines can be used in tethered or bolted cowsheds as well as in milking parlors.

Therefore, how to properly and effectively clean the milking equipment is also a key part of daily production in dairy farms. The correct and effective cleaning of milking equipment is the first step to ensure product quality, and at the same time preventing animals from cross-contamination of some diseases.

The general cleaning procedure is: (May vary depending on the brand and model of the equipment used in the dairy site)

Pre-rinse

Immediately after use, rinse with warm water of 35-40°C until the water is clear.

Wash water cannot be reused.

Cycle cleaning

Cycle cleaning for 5 to 10 minutes.

The amount of cleaning agent is determined by the engineer of the supplier's after-sales service department according to the local water quality.

Maintain the water temperature 80~85°C.

The temperature of the water discharged after circulating cleaning is not lower than 40°C.

Use a safety pump to quantitatively extract the cleaning agent. The safety pump must not be mixed.

To ensure the cleaning effect and avoid accidents, do not add detergent directly to the tank.

When cleaning by hand, choose the proper cleaning tool according to the different equipment and piping. Do not use wire brushes or rough cleaning pads as this will damage the surface of the device.

After the rinse

Rinse with cold water for about 5 minutes.

Sewage

After rinsing is complete, drain the system thoroughly through the lowest point of the equipment (eg, open the pump bottom drain valve).

maintenance

Regularly maintain, test, and calibrate milking equipment (including vacuum pumps, regulators, pulsators, etc.).

Regularly replace the inner rubber sleeves and other rubber accessories to ensure that the milking equipment maintains a good operating condition.
