1. Sources and Habitation
Apigenin (4,5,7-trihydroxyflavone),  is a natural product belonging to the flavoneclass  that  is the aglycone  of  several naturally occurring glycosides. It is found in high amounts in several herbs including parsley, thyme, and peppermint.

It is is also found in a number of other herbs, including chamomile herb, Horsetail herb, lemon balm herb, perilla herb, vervain herb, and yarrow.

Red wine and tomato sauce contain this flavonoid.

2. Descriptions and Specifications of Product
Plant original: Apium graveolens var.dulce
Specifications: 98.0% Apigenin Test by HPLC
Molecular Formula: C15H10O5
Molecular Mass: 270.24
CAS No: 520-36-5

3. Indications and Uses
Apigenin is an antioxidant plant flavanoid which contains anti-inflammatory  and anticancer properties.  It may induce apoptosis and may inhibit proliferation of tumor cells by arresting the cell cycle at the G2/M phase.

Apigenin Is also known to be a MAP kinase inhibitor and a selective inhibitor of Protein Kinase 2 (CK2). Apigenin is capable of exerting diverse effects on a vast variety of molecular targets. Most effects appear to be mostly mediated through suppressing nitric oxide synthase-2 (NOS2), Hypoxia-inducible factor 1 α (HIF-1α), lipoxygenase, cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2)  and  vascular  endothelial growth factor (VEGF) expression. Blocks proliferation of Wnt-1 transfected cells,  dephosphorylates β-catenin and lowers levels of β-catenin  and Dvi. Apigenin is  an inhibitor  of Casein Kinase, CYP19, CYP2C9, ERK and PKC.
